I agree that each church has the right to decide issues like that within its own religious domain. But there is no good reason for the state, which is the authority that issues marriage licenses, to deny one to any couple who wants that level of legal commitment. This is a civil rights issue.

sexual "immorality" exists - with or without formal recognition by the government, i.e, gay marriage. gay marriage is just a symptom. the symptom isn't the problem (though i still take issue with it)

I don't want homosexual's to marry and then get the family credits and tax breaks. They aren't a real couple because they cannot procreate. What would keep two brothers from getting married simply to get the tax break? I would ass/u/me everyone would have issue with that correct?

It will come to that. Inbreeding. They will say just like the gay thing that it is love and that they should be able to have kids.

What if a 45 year old wants to marry a 12 year old (both males) and they do it just like the gay pride thing? It will happen...

Then why should anyone get family credits and tax breaks? Why should one couple get it and not another? People have sex without procreating with each encounter so why should procreation be the measure of why some get the breaks and others don't? I don't see any logic in that.

Other issues you and Shawn have raised are incest and pedophilia and they shouldn't be lumped in with homosexuality since they are separate issues.

I'd like to know the statistics of gays and straight peoples involvement in incest and pedophilia, would this change anything?

Who is to say incest is wrong? If two men can marry why can't they be brothers?
