RE: Gay Marriage?
I don't see gay marriage as being anything bad myself, personally myself I have always seen marriage as something that you do when you love someone and if 2 men or 2 women love each other then why not marry each other.

RE: Gay Marriage?
But what if it was two men who happen to be brothers or something like that? I mean, they could say the same as a homosexual would...that people should let them be. I am not exactly against gay marrage or for it but I am putting this stuff on the table to be considered...

RE: Gay Marriage?
So why do you stop at "two" people? Most of the gay community have multible lovers.....(at least the ones I know do), A whole group can get married and it will be like a Haram! Also, most of the gay guys will do a girl or two in the course of the year so it should'nt be able to narrow it down to "same" sex either.
If I were a wise man I'd talk to you more often than I do. |

Truly gay men have no sexual interest in women. It sounds like you are describing bisexuals who have a preference for one gender but will do both. By the time they had diminished from 50 to eight, the other dwarves began to suspect "Hungry". http://www.lightseedsjewelry.com |

RE: Gay Marriage?
Our nations laws (most states) don't allow for same sex marriages either....my point is made. I don't believe in bisexuals, it's a personal choice being made there. I feel like if people were truly born gay then gay would be extinct by now. This due to survival of the fittest.....ie no way to procreate then wouldn't those "gay" jeans die out over several billion years of evolution?

RE: Gay Marriage?
Oh come now! I find it very stimulating to come up with material that Lumara won't be able to dismiss with a couple of word posts. I think we both know our minds won't be changed but I will say this, things have been said that have opened my thought banks. I love the fact that we CAN debate and even if I don't like it laws are made and changed each and every day. One hundred years ago women were not allowed to vote.....I'm sure the moral majority of that day used specific verses in the Bible to make it right in the eyes of the men, and even most of the women.

RE: Gay Marriage?
Yeti Wrote:Our nations laws (most states) don't allow for same sex marriages either.... Personally, I think the whole idea of marriage as a state-sanctioned institution is a little ridiculous. Nobody should need to get their partnership sanctioned by the government; it's really none of the government's business. It's really hard for me to comprehend the idea of not being allowed to marry who you want. I guess its because i completely lack the religion element, so have no "its against gods wishes!" kind of argument, but really in this day and age i can't see why people get so worked up about it. To me it doesn't matter what other people do when it isn't going to have any impact on my life. So it will make two men happy if they get married? Good, i'm happy for them. I'm pretty sure the concept of marriage was around long before the church hijacked it too, clearly not like the ceremony we know today but in terms of an accepting of a partnership between two people. So i agree that if a religious institution does not believe in it then they have the right not to carry it out, but the option should certainly be available in other places. You might argue that the US is still a Christian nation, and so homosexuals getting married within the county is still going against god. But then so are other religious practices which take place, and lets not forget that until not too long ago you had all the negros who wanted to "marry" like plain white folks. That isn't such a taboo today, neither should gay marriage be. |
