We could have a great discussion about the subject if we didn't have the "what would the world look like if we didn't do this", or the "we-are-better-than-the-rest"-type of discussion.
You and I are slaves of a system. Patriotism is a tool from the government, indoctrinated since you were able to understand your first words.
And maybe less harmful but still annoying: It makes an objective discussion about the subject impossible.
