Smoking Bans!
What are your opinions about states banning smoking in public places such as resturants and bars?

RE: Smoking Bans!
i'm fine with it

in california, smoking isn't allowed in restaurants, period

i agree with that policy

no one should have to be around that junk. smokers can handle their business in their own private space, smh

RE: Smoking Bans!
I don't like smoking anyways. Will never do it, so I'm fine with it being banned.

But isn't it a bad thing when the business owner no longer has a say in it? Now the state can have the say! What if they say smoking in your home could affect your neighbor and that they outlaw it and make it legal for police to raid your home without a warrant because they think your smoking?

It will come to that eventually...

yeah that's not happening

i can see it being a problem in the public realm

it's not going to permeate the private, "domestic" realm

Yeah, it is a bad thing if the owner doesn't have a say, since it is his/her store. And I entirely agree, police should NOT raid people's homes without a PROPER warrant, it's not right.

My point is it seems like we are losing more and more rights as time goes on...

I'm not a smoker, but I'm not too crazy about smoking ban. It's unhealthy, but at the end of the day, it's personal liberty. Is it hazardous to others? Sure, but what's wrong with having smoking bars and restaurants here and there? If you don't like to go there, you just go to non-smoking bars and restaurants. Pretty simple.

Smell? Smell of candies are pretty awful. Sweat smells. Popcorns smells, and there are probably people do not like that smell.
