And that's pretty okay. While your kids may not think of you as a friend, they will respect you.
You know that kids need discipline and structure, and you're not afraid to give it to them.
Just be careful that your strictness doesn't lead to rebellion.
It's good to have standards and rules, but you don't need to have an iron fist when enforcing them.

No need to take this test. My daughter told me on New Years Eve (after coming in drunk) that she hates me.......

Why did she say that? Isn't she too young to drink? I doubt she hates you, its normal for kids to do that to their parents...

Were you to young when you started? She is only 18 but is super intelligent now.....**rolls eyes**

Unfortantly, I started drinkin younger, like more by 13 and 14. Then, I needed a good whippen LOL but then again, when I got caught smoking (smoked since age 10) I got whooped and continued

She may be rebeling yeti, but she may find out the hard way how life is and need dad. Thing to do now (saying this as a kid, well a former kid) is be a good dad. I mean even if she is living with you, give her, her space and her adulthood but still keep her safe.

And you can always drop those one pills in her drinks when she aint looking, you know, the pills that make the liquor come back up

I don't need pills for that.....Lol!

Kids never think their parents are cool. And at 18, yeti, they think they know it all. I'll never forget what my father told me when I was around 21, that I was going through my "last obnoxious childhood phase before adulthood." I thought he was sadly mistaken then, but years later, I realize he was right.
